Investment Research Contest

Triple Nine Society Foundation (TNSF) Investment Research Contest:

Prizes Provided By Seeking Alpha

In cooperation with Seeking Alpha, a crowdsourced investment research site with roughly four million registered users, TNSF is pleased to sponsor an investment research contest. Contest entrants who contribute analyses that Seeking Alpha accepts for publication are eligible to win up to six months of Seeking Alphas Pro Access research (a $300 per month value).

More importantly, winning entrants will receive public recognition for their efforts that may well be valuable in advancing careers on Wall Street or in other finance-related pursuits.

In addition to their generous contribution of the research being awarded to our winners, Seeking Alpha will:

- compensate all contributors of published articles according to their standard rates,

- provide editorial guidance, and

- as appropriate, act as a liaison between contest entrants and investment professionals offering internship opportunities.

Prizes Provided By Thinknum

Thinknum scrapes data from companies websites, social media, etc. and provides analytical tools to make sense of it. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2016-01-13/democratizing-financial-analysis

Thinknum will be providing free subscriptions (expiring 12/31/17) to its institutional account product for ALL of our contestants. The list price of these subscriptions is currently $400/month. https://www.thinknum.com/creator/account/register/

As is noted below, one becomes a contestant by:

1) showing evidence that they qualify for TNS (or by being a current member or by receiving a waiver from us), AND

2) getting an exclusive article published by Seeking Alpha (i.e. not published elsewhere on the free web), AND

3) sending foundation@triplenine.org a link to that article within five days of publication.

Contest Mechanics – Seeking Alpha Prizes

Entrants will be awarded one point for each exclusive article they contribute that is accepted for publication by Seeking Alpha and an additional point for each such article receiving designation as an “Editors’ Pick”.

The entrant with the highest point total will receive the first place prize (six months of Pro Access), while the second and third place entrants will receive three months and one month of Pro Access, respectively.

Ties will be settled on the basis of lifetime comments, which are tracked on each Seeking Alpha contributor’s profile page (i.e. more comments beating fewer).

Remaining ties will then be settled on the basis of followers, which are also tracked on each Seeking Alpha contributor’s profile page (i.e. more followers beating fewer).

In the unlikely event that a tie persists, it will be settled according to the number of comments associated with each entrant’s most recently published Seeking Alpha article, a figure that is also tracked on each Seeking Alpha contributor’s profile page (i.e. more comments beating fewer).

In the event of disputes, all rulings by TNSF will be final.

Each individual contest will last for as long as it takes for entrants to submit a total of 30 published Seeking Alpha articles. This will ensure that at least 10% of each contest’s entrants will receive prizes, there being three prizes awarded for each group of 30 articles. Until further notice, a new contest will commence upon the conclusion of each individual contest.
