ggg999-2017 - Information

Ninth Annual

Global General Gathering of Triple Nine Society (ggg999)

Los Angeles, California, USA, September 1-4, 2017

After previous meetings in Denver (2009), Berkeley (2010), Philadelphia (2011), Woodland Hills (LA) (2012), Denver (2013), Little Rock (2014), Dallas (2015) and Orlando (2016, coinciding with hurricane Matthew), we are going to meet in Los Angeles over the Labor Day weekend 2017.

Who?
The event is open to current members of TNS, former members of TNS, as well as to qualified applicants who haven’t joined yet. Members of other 99.9th -percentile-plus high-IQ societies with credible admission standards (Prometheus, Epimetheus, ISPE and OATHS) are also welcome. The general idea is not to exclude, but to include and have a good time. Registration is not free, but the fee is reasonable, it’s the same for everyone, and there are discounts for early registration (see below).
If you're not currently a member of TNS and would like to register, please contact Betsy at b.walli@alum.mit.edu, letting her know which group you're a member of, or whether you're a lapsed TNS member. Thank you!!

Family / Friends / Guests
Non-members are welcome, but we want to ensure that members make the majority of the adults present (or at least that there are equal numbers). To that end, every member is free to bring one non-member guest only. Your spouse, a good friend,... all is fine — but one person only. Naturally, they also have to register and pay. If you want to bring your kids, by all means do so — they need to register but underage kids don’t have to pay — and bring as many as you have.

Where?
Embassy Suites LAX North
9801 Airport Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045

When?
The meeting runs from the afternoon of Friday, September 1, through lunch on Monday, September 4, 2017. In addition, there will be an early-bird dinner on Thursday, August 31, a hike on Friday morning, and a hike and sunset beach picnic on Monday afternoon.

Two Hikes
Friday morning we'll hike approximately 3 hours in the hills of Palos Verdes with beautiful ocean views, stopping for lunch on the way back to the hotel and arriving in time for the ggg999 kick-off. Monday after lunch, we'll hike an easy trail along the coast and finish with a sunset picnic on the beach.

Where to stay
We encourage you to book a room at the Embassy Suites, to have access to the complimentary breakfast buffet and complimentary evening social, at which you can socialize with other TNS people. If you are not a hotel guest, you can pay the hotel separately for the breakfast buffet and evening social, if you would like to participate.

This is your chance to let us know what you would like to see in your ggg999. Please contact Betsy at b.walli@alum.mit.edu if you have suggestions or would like to give a talk.
